RELATED: Fallout 4: The Hardest Quests In The Game (& Others That Are Too Easy)
The latest single-player title in the series might be quite divisive, but there’s no denying that Fallout 4 is still an excellent game that players can make even better with mods. Fallout 4romance mods are especially notable in this regard, and players can download the following mods to make their romantic activities all the more engaging and fleshed out.
Updated on January 12, 2023, by Ritwik Mitra: Fallout 4 is a great title that needs no introduction, with the massive landscape of the Commonwealth being a joy to explore. The improvements made to the gameplay in this title have been quite notable, even if the story and role-playing elements have been simplified quite a bit to give the title more mass appeal. Regardless, the game is still worth checking out from start to end, with the story being quite fun, if somewhat simple.
Of course, it would be impossible to talk about any Bethesda game without mentioning its amazing modding support, and Fallout 4 is no exception to this golden rule. The sheer number of amazing mods for this game is quite impressive, including ones that improve and enhance the element of romance present in the game. The best examples in this regard are mentioned below, and fans should definitely download these mods if they want their amorous adventures in Fallout 4 to be more memorable for all the right reasons.
16 Flirty Commonwealth
Engaging in flirty conversations is always fun for players who want to pursue the many romantic avenues present in Fallout 4, so they would be disappointed to know that these interactions are sorely lacking in the game. Thankfully, modders are here to save the day by adding a bit of romantic flavor by adding flirty dialogue across the Commonwealth that players can discover.
Hearing characters both passively and actively flirting with the player is pretty great, with the player being able to flirt right back if they wish. There are both light and heavy flirt lines that are distributed around the world of Fallout 4 based on what the environment and city are like. The same applies to player companions, with these lines being given based on the personality of certain characters in the game. It’s a fun and well-thought-out mod that players would love if they want romantic interactions to be increased considerably in the game.
15 Expressive Expressions
Bethesda is known for many things, but character animation certainly isn’t one of them. Even the reveal trailer for Starfield showed that Bethesda was still pretty weak in this department, with the characters looking wooden as always. This obviously makes character interactions feel slightly more jilted, and this is especially apparent when the player is trying to woo one of the potential romanceable options in the game.
Players who feel like their sense of immersion is being hampered by this title should definitely check out the Expressive Expressions mod. This mod isn’t just useful for romance but makes each and every interaction in the game all the more believable. The static expressions of the characters in the game are replaced with handmade ones that look pretty authentic and engaging in their own right.
14 Mary Jane
Most Bethesda games get great companion mods that players can download to engage with custom-made companions that are fleshed out quite a bit. Fallout 4 is no exception to this golden rule, and players who want to check out some great modded companions for the game can start out with Mary Jane.

This character has a great backstory, a unique look, and can even be romanced if the Sole Survivor plays their cards right! While this modded character doesn’t have a voice yet, the creator has promised that this will also be integrated in due time.
13 Cait Dialogue Fix
The original name of this mod is pretty extensive and rather explicit. However, there’s no denying the fact that its functionality is very much welcome, especially if players don’t want anything particularly immersion-breaking to ruin their romance with Cait.
Basically, Cait threatens to kick male players in a rather sensitive area even after she enters a romantic relationship with said player. This simple mod takes care of this issue and ensures that players don’t have to deal with Cait’s annoying quips even after winning her affection.
12 Monogamy - Break The Romance Loop
For some reason, it seems that Bethesda programmed companions to constantly pitch the idea of a romance after reaching max affinity. This can get annoying for players who only want to initiate a romance with a single character and don’t want to be too rude while rejecting others.
With this simple mod, players can reject certain companions with way nicer dialogue options instead of rejecting them outright. It feels like a nicer way to deal with the companions in the game without feeling too rude in the process.
11 Mechanical Romance
Curie is one of the most interesting companions in the game. She’s a robot who can potentially fall in love with the player and wishes to get into a synth body so that this romance feels more organic.

Of course, some players might find Curie to be perfectly fine in her robotic form. This is where the Mechanical Romance mod comes into the picture, which basically prevents “Emergent Behavior” from coming up as a quest and prevents Curie from complaining about not having a synth body.
10 Graygarden - Romance Edition
Graygarden is nothing more than a dull place where players can harvest fruits, and nothing else. With the advent of this mod, the full potential of this area is finally unlocked, turning it into a hotspot that players will frequent over and over again.
The entire area of Graygarden is overhauled to a massive extent, making for one of the most romantic and engaging areas in the entire game. Coming here with someone special for a peaceful and romantic moment has way more impact than ever before.
9 Lover’s Rings
The wedding rings that players carry in their inventory throughout Fallout 4 definitely make sense from a story standpoint. However, one can’t deny that these rings do feel like deadweight at times.
This is where the Lover’s Rings mod comes into the picture. It turns the wedding rings into a Soldier’s Wedding Ring and a Lawyer’s Wedding Ring, with minor stat boosts of their own.
8 Curie Romance Dialogue Fix
For the most part, players can romance characters in Fallout 4 at their convenience. However, there is one exception to this rule in the form of Curie, whose romance opportunity only comes once in the game. Players have only one chance, and if they miss it, their chances with Curie are gone.
This is a bug that can be fixed by this simple mod. Now, players don’t have to worry about missing out on romancing Curie anymore.
7 Nick Valentine Romance
Nick Valentine is easily one of the best companions in Fallout 4. This synth detective is beloved among the fanbase, so players were rather disappointed that they couldn’t romance this amazing character.

Thankfully, with this mod, Nick Valentine is now a viable romance for the player. This mod was carefully constructed using bits and snippets of vanilla dialogue and fits in perfectly with the other romances present in this game.
6 Deacon Romance…ish
Deacon is another beloved character from Fallout 4 that some players genuinely wanted to engage in a romance with. While a proper fleshed-out romance would be quite difficult to integrate for this character, there’s a compromise that players can reach until then.
This mod allows players to initiate basic romantic interactions with Deacon. It might not be the neatest way to engage in a romance with Deacon, but it’s the best option players have for now, and allows them to deepen their relationship with this character.
5 Heather Casdin – A Unique Companion Experience
Bethesda titles are full to the brim with unique companion mods. These creations allow players to interact with fan-made characters that have a ton of love and effort put into them. Heather Casdin is one such companion mod that deserves its plaudits for being one of the more fleshed-out fan-made characters out there.
As one would expect, players can romance Heather as well. The extra effort put into this character makes the act of romancing her way more engaging than most of the vanilla companions present in Fallout 4!
4 Visible Companion Affinity
Gauging a player’s affinity with a companion in Fallout 4 can be quite a task. This mainly boils down to the fact that many players don’t know how they can even track this affinity in the first place.
This simple mod adds a quantitative figure to the affinity shared between the player and each companion they have a bond with. It’s the best way to have a clear idea of the progress that players have made in befriending certain companions and romancing others.
3 No Negative Affinity & No Affinity Cooldown
Negative affinity can be quite a pain to deal with, especially since the actions that change a companion’s affinity can be quite obscure at times. This is where the No Negative Affinity and No Affinity Cooldown mod comes into the picture.

The functions accomplished for this mod should be pretty obvious. It removes any negative affinity effects that can hamper one’s relationship with a potential romance. It also features options to reduce or completely remove affinity cooldown.
2 Unlimited Companion Framework
Fallout 4 places an annoying restriction upon the player when it comes to traveling around the world with a companion. In the vanilla game, players can only take one companion with them to travel the game’s vast world.
Thankfully, with the Unlimited Companion Framework mod, players can take as many companions with them as they want. Not only is this a great way to enjoy some much-needed company while traversing the desolate wasteland, but it also allows players to enjoy affinity bonuses across the board for multiple companions in one go.
1 Player Marriage – Marry Your Romanced Companion
Perhaps the biggest missing component from Fallout 4’s romances is the fact that players can’t marry their paramour. While this makes sense from a story point of view, players were still quite disappointed that they couldn’t take the ultimate step in the relationship with their virtual partner.
Thankfully, with this mod, players can now marry their romantic partners whenever they wish. All they need to do is go with their partner to Diamond City, where they can register on the terminal inside the Chapel and then attend their wedding.
Fallout 4 was released on November 10, 2015, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
