This device comes with the magnetic keyboard dock which uses metal contacts instead of Bluetooth. Well-known watch maker Casio has gone down the smartwatch route with the oddly named WSD-F10. This is a circular screen device running Android Wear with a robust design aimed at those who love the outdoors. It doesn’t have GPS but it is waterproof to 50m and can measure atmospheric pressure.

The Go is Withings smallest and cheapest activity tracker to date. It’s a not much bigger than a two pound coin and can be worn in different ways including a watch and inside a clip. The always on e-ink screen gives basic information on your progress, works as a clock and means battery life is a healthy eight months.

Phones are few and far between at CES but Acer is back on the Windows Phone bandwagon with the Jade Primo. Unlike a lot of Acer phones we’ve seen, the Primo has some serious specs including a 5.5in SuperAMOLED screen, 21Mp camera and a Snapdragon 808 processor. Windows Phone is no more so it comes with Windows 10 Mobile.

The most interesting drone at CES 2016 is the Disco from Parrot. It’s the first fixed-wing drone and is driven by a single propeller at the rear instead of using four like most on the market. Although it looks like it, Fitbit maintains that the new Blaze is a tracker like its other products. However, it can connect to your phone over Bluetooth to provide notifications for things like calls and text messages. Either way, the Blaze is customisable with a range of straps and features a ‘PurePulse’ heart rate sensor but no built-in GPS.

Lenovo going all suit and tie with its tablet doesn’t sound exciting but the ThinkPad Z1 Tablet offers a modular design. You can bump the battery life to 15 hours, clip on a pico projector and HDMI port or add an Intel RealSense camera. It’s a rival to the Surface with a keyboard dock, Core-M processor, up to 1TB of storage and a 2560x 1440 IPS touchscreen.

Sony Bravia XD93

TVs are always a large part of CES and HDR (High Dynamic Range) is the big thing for this year. The XD93 range is the first to feature Sony’s Slim Backlight Drive, a new grid-array backlighting system to create brighter peak highlights and deeper blacks with up to three times the brightness range of conventional TVs. Sony also wants to tempt you with the virtually bezel-free design, X1 processor and Android TV.
