Of course, those who have played the game to its fullest may be looking for another game that can fill the void. Luckily, there are many simulation games out there that Car Mechanic Simulator players will enjoy.

Updated on January 28, 2023, by Chris Birsner: The developers at Red Dot Games have delivered multiple entries to their Car Mechanic Simulator franchise, with its latest game being Car Mechanic Simulator 2021. Even though it has been over a year since the last game, the developers have continued to release DLC for their game including adding new cars and collaborating with Wheeler Dealers. But it would be understandable for those who have played these games for some time to want something new. Luckily, there are plenty of mechanic games and various simulators out there that are available to try and capture similar magic.

20 PowerWash Simulator

Car Mechanic Simulator involves getting into the nitty-gritty of vehicles and understanding every element of them. Those who enjoyed the simulation element of the game may want to take a break from the technicalities of car repair.

In PowerWash Simulator, players will obtain the ability to hose down the neighborhood using a power washer. The goal of the game is to build up the business and earn upgrades for the tool to help take on some of the filthiest tasks. The game is definitely a much smoother experience, especially with the soothing sounds of the water.

19 Microsoft Flight Simulator

While there are plenty of games revolving around cars like Car Mechanic Simulator, there aren’t a ton revolving around planes. It might be because of how beloved Microsoft Flight Simulator is, a game that gives players a realistic look at what it is like to fly high above the Earth.

The newest iteration of the franchise, Microsoft Flight Simulator has a variety of different planes that players could hop into and learn how they handle. On top of that, the game uses Bing Maps to recreate an accurate layout of the land down below. This includes some cities and landmarks that have been specifically designed to stand out.

18 Lawn Mowing Simulator

Speaking of games regarding general maintenance, how about a game all about maintaining a good yard? In Lawn Mowing Simulator, players get to start their own business where they take jobs for various properties to provide them with the best-cut grass possible.

The game uses actually licensed lawnmowers that players can ride around in. While the actual mowing is the main element of the game, players will also need to make sure they clean up any debris that is in the yard. Failing to do so will harm the machine they are riding.

17 PC Building Simulator

Working on any kind of machine is complicated, which is why the developers over at The Irregular Corporation wanted to give PC gamers the ability to practice building rigs without spending thousands of dollars.

PC Building Simulator allows players to use products from over 45 different companies as they work to build or repair computers. The game is not only an interesting simulation for running a business, but it also gives people insight into how to actually build computers in real life. It’s both a fun simulation game and a learning experience.

16 World of Guns: Gun Disassembly

Games like Car Mechanic Simulator are all about going into the inner workings of tools that people use that we find fascinating. World of Guns: Gun Disassembly is a free-to-play game that does just that with weapons from both real-life and fictional worlds.

Each gun in their arsenal can be picked up and torn apart, piece by piece, giving the player an understanding of every layer. While they have a ton of guns to choose from, there are some bonus models to observe that include cars, bikes, and even skeletons of living organisms.

15 Train Sim World 2

Once someone becomes a master car mechanic, it’s time to move forward and see what other vehicles can be learned about and broken down. Train Sim World 2 doesn’t quite go deep into all the different parts of the train or how to repair them, but it sure provides a lot of insight into controlling them.

Players will be able to hit the rails of many famous lines in Europe and learn the basics of the map and the engine. Players will also be able to customize their trains as well as the path they travel with these trains.

14 Kerbal Space Program

While it certainly may seem like a silly entry in the genre of mechanic games, Kerbal Space Program takes its simulation elements very seriously. Kerbals are a race of aliens who are on a mission to explore space. The job of the player is to make that possible.

There are various modes to choose from in Kerbal Space Program, but at its core, it is a simulator designed for people to practice building spaceships and other relevant vehicles to see if they can run in space. The game has a realistic physics engine so that way players will know if what they are doing is going to be effective.

13 SnowRunner

There are many simulation games that focus just on the driving part of the vehicular experience. One of the most grueling driving sims out there is SnowRunner. The off-road game focuses on putting players behind the wheel of powerful trucks while facing brutal terrain.

There are plenty of missions that will involve hauling objects through these circumstances, requiring the player to be extra careful while handling the vehicle. There are 40 unique vehicles in SnowRunner that can be customized and upgraded. There is also a four-player co-op mode.

12 Accident

Car Mechanic Simulator is about working on cars that are meant to be driven around. In Accident, players investigate cars that were driven around and ended up in the worst possible scenario. As a journalist, players will need to examine the victims of these events and piece together how the accident happened in the first place.

First aid can even be used to help the victims, which can be critical to their survival. The decisions made in the game will impact how things turn out, but if there is ever any hesitation about how the investigation went, there is a rewind feature.

11 Teardown

Most simulation games are about building things up. In Teardown, it’s about bringing everything to the ground. The basis of the game has players being placed in front of a structure with various tools they can use to tear it down.

The campaign revolves around getting into the shady business of running “errands” to help pay off debts, adding a storyline to the destruction of buildings. There is also a sandbox mode in Teardown for free play and a challenge mode to really see how to solve certain demolition requests.

10 Gas Station Simulator

Ever wonder what it’s like to run a gas station alone? In Gas Station Simulator, the player purchases an abandoned gas station. It is up to them to maintain the equipment at the location while also serving the customers that pull up.

This will require both effective handling of the gas and also doing so in a timely matter to serve the next person in line. Along the way, the station can be customized with the money earned through pumping gas. There are even some options for expansions so more cars can come in, as well as the ability to hire workers.

9 American Truck Simulator

Another game that revolves around just driving the vehicles is American Truck Simulator. From the same people who brought the world Euro Truck Simulator, this game tasks players to travel around states like California, Nevada, and Arizona in large trucks to deliver goods.

Players can drive official brand trucks as they learn how to navigate the roads with large cargo attached to them. Players will be paid based on how quickly they complete the task while also keeping the cargo safe. Players can also personalize their truck, from their cabin to their chassis.

8 My Garage

While Car Mechanic Simulator has made a name for itself as one of the best with this specific format, it’s nice to see other developers give it a try. Available in early access, My Garage is a physics-based simulator focused on repairing and sprucing up vehicles.

Once the mechanical process is done, players can take the cars they make for a little ride out on the empty lot or even on the road. However, they can damage the vehicle as they drive around so it’s important to take things for a spin safely in this car mechanic game.

7 Forza Horizon 4

If Car Mechanic Simulator players live and breathe vehicles, Forza Horizon 4 is the perfect game to try out. This racing simulation experience has over 450 cars that players can acquire and take for a spin. Players are invited to the automotive festival in Britain as they can participate in various different races.

In addition, Forza Horizon 4 is an open-world experience that will allow players to spend time exploring and trying out certain courses before the races start. The game is among the more beautiful race simulation games out there.

6 House Flipper

Those who like the detail-oriented nature of repairing cars will enjoy a simulation game that involves repairing homes. In House Flipper, players take on the role of buying houses and renovating them to the point that they can be sold on the market.

The game will include cleaning the house from top to bottom, repairing certain utilities, and revamping the house with new decorations. The goal will be to ultimately make more money than what was spent to acquire the house in the first place.

5 Electrician Simulator

Being authentic to the car mechanic profession is a big reason why Car Mechanic Simulator works. Another game that attempts to replicate a difficult job is Electrician Simulator, which is all about handling the electric routing in a house or in specific objects.

The game features the ability to not just change someone’s light bulbs, but to completely lay out wire in someone’s home and fiddle with various objects such as a game controller or a fire alarm. The game also has a completely fleshed-out story mode that includes learning clients’ stories and customizing one’s own workspace.

4 BeamNG.drive

Speaking of experimenting with vehicles, one under-the-radar game that surprises most who play it is BeamNG.drive. This is because of its soft-body physics engine that makes each component of a car look authentic as it moves around or upon destruction.

Players who take part in the early access can try out a wide variety of different vehicle models to take on the road in 12 different open-world environments. Different modes for the game include free-roaming, different driving scenarios, and time trials. There’s also a large modding community with the game.

3 My Summer Car

What if Car Mechanic Simulator was also a survival game as well? That’s what My Summer Car is all about. This car-building simulator starts players off with all the parts needed to construct their ideal vehicle. Once it’s properly assembled and ready to hit to drive, players can go out and find jobs where they can make money that can be invested into the car.

While all of this is happening, players will need to take care of their essential needs like eating and sleeping. If not, players are at risk of dying and starting the whole journey over again from the top.

2 Construction Simulator

After a long hiatus, Construction Simulator made its return in 2022 with a new release that is sure to make anyone interested in mechanic games or realistic games about building want to at least try it out. The game features two large maps with plenty of structures to build in both.

Along with a regular campaign for each map, players can use an array of tools and vehicles that are based on actual licensed products in real life to build their vision for the site. The best part is that the game does not need to be completely alone as up to four players can assist.

1 Tank Mechanic Simulator

The best games to try for Car Mechanic Simulator fans are the ones by the same developers at DeGenerals S.A. One of these games is Tank Mechanic Simulator. In a similar fashion, this game is built around fixing up and renovating different vehicles.

This time, however, they are fully interactive tanks from different eras in history. Players will be tasked with finding tanks on old battlefields and fixing them up to open up a tank museum. There are many other mechanic simulation games from the developer, but this game is among their best received.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is available now on Steam.
