RELATED: The Best Tactical Shooters Of All Time, Ranked

The best part is that it’s free-to-play and is much easier to play. The Cycle: Frontier requires less time to get used to, which makes it much more tangible for newcomers. But, even though it’s a much easier shooter to get into, players, especially new ones should know what type of gear to go in with. Since every time the player dies, they lose everything unless they insure their gear, this allows them to get more time with weapons, which in turn, makes them better at fighting. There’s a ton of gear in The Cycle: Frontier, however, the ones on this list stand out the most and will have an impact on the player.

5 Large Backpack (Rare)

Now, much like Escape From Tarkov having inventory with space is needed, because the match can end at any moment if players aren’t ready. In The Cycle: Frontier, it plays the same way, and if it gets filled up players will move slow and make more noise. This allows other enemy players to quickly make their way to the player, which forces them to fight harder all while moving slow. So in order to combat this, the best thing would be for players to either find or print a Large Backpack.

First, is that having a larger backpack is needed, using a medium-sized one is fine, however, it’ll fill up quite quickly, so going for a bigger one is always the best thing to do. Much like Escape From Tarkov, players will be spending a ton of time exploring, and gathering resources, and a big backpack will help out a lot. However, there’s an even bigger one that holds 50 more items, but that won’t make much of a difference because players will be getting into firefights a lot, so there will always be several empty slots. The Cycle: Frontier features printing, meaning players can create gear and weapons to take them into each match, provided they have the resources. So, if players have a large backpack at the get-go, getting through each match will be easy.

4 Heavy Mining Tool

Looking for resources is another important aspect of The Cycle: Frontier because it allows players to print more gear and weapons without playing a match, and get items for quests. When players first drop, they’ll get a pickaxe, which does what it needs to do, but there are more options. The Heavy Mining Tool is necessary in most cases because it allows players to get rarer minerals, plus lets players get them faster. However, since it’s bigger than the pickaxe, it takes more time to equip, so players should check if their area is clear before using it.

On the other side, as mentioned before, not only is it faster, but it also doesn’t spend any stamina, so players can spend a lot of time mining in one area. This is a tool players should use once they understand the meta of The Cycle: Frontier because there are some trade-offs. The main thing is that it makes noise, so on top of taking more time to take out, it will make enemies know where the player is. The high-risk-high-reward value of this tool makes it a lot more of an incentive for players to use. But they should understand the risks that come with it.

3 Tactical Helmet (Rare)

Every piece of armor players wear can have attributes that can make their sessions easy, and make them harder to take down. Helmets are a part of that aspect of their loadout because headshots can end the player’s match in one shot, so having a good helmet can stop that from happening. However, having a helmet with effects makes a world of difference. If players already have a piece of gear that can bring health back, plus having gear like the Tactical Helmet which can bring stamina back, that balances out the gameplay.

Since players will spend a lot of time moving, and doing things that will cost them stamina, having a piece of gear that will give them a boost of 40 percent, allows players to do more. The best part about The Cycle: Frontier gives players tons of options to live longer, which includes giving players beefy gear early on like the Tactical Helmet, which in turn, makes the game easier to get into than the others in the genre.

2 Restoration Shield (Rare)

There are many things that make up the player’s loadout including, weapons, tools, armor, and more. The one thing that players need and that is essential, is the shield. Now, all shields do the same thing, however, most of them have added benefits, like stamina capacity. So when looking for shields, players should see if they have any effects, because they go a long way. Much like other modern first-person shooters like Wolfenstein, which has pretty fluid gunplay, and makes players fight aggressively.

The shields in The Cycle: Frontier make players behave the same way, provided they have the right one. In this case, it’s the Restoration Shield. While players have many options to heal themselves, things get easier when they can do it passively. Healing the player at a rate of 0.3 percent per second may seem like a little, but in reality, it’s night and day. Healing is such an important aspect of The Cycle: Frontier, and it shows because it gives players so many ways to do it, this is something PUBG does quite well, which in turn has made it one of the easier battle royals for players to get into.

1 Restoration Helmet (Rare)

As mentioned before, players can have gear that impacts different aspects of their loadout like stamina and many other things. If players have two pieces of gear that can bring health back, or keeps it more stable, winning firefights will be more common. Most multiplayer games have the PVE element in them some do better than others, which makes them fun to play and immersive, The Cycle: Frontier does the same thing.

Even if players aren’t fighting other players, they will still need to defend themselves against beasts that roam the map, on top of that, some of them will follow players for a while, and do more damage. So if players have multiple things on them that maintain their health, traversing the map will be easy. At a rate of 0.3 seconds to recover health, players won’t need to worry about health as much, but would still need to be cautious with how they play. On top of giving health back, the helmet can take a beating, sitting comfortably at a 700 rating, which is a great middle-ground for players to start off at.

The Cycle Frontier is available now on PC.
