However, that’s not all there is to Fortnite. To survive the storm and get a Victory Royale it’s just as important to understand how all the heals work and which ones can make a difference at a time of need. In this article, the healing items that can be found as loot in Fortnite will be analyzed and ranked based on their usefulness and effectiveness.
10 Bandages
Bandages have always been in the game, it’d be strange to play a Fortnite game without them. They’re a Common rarity item, they can be found quite easily, so it’s good that players can stack up to 15 of them in the same inventory slot. It takes three and a half seconds to apply a Bandage, it’ll only provide +15 health and they cap at 75 HP. They’re good if there’s nothing better around.
9 Medkit
The Medkit is certainly an upgrade compared to Bandages. It gets the player back up to their max health immediately, and it only needs to be applied once. However, it takes a total of ten seconds for the Medkit to be applied, which can be a long time, especially in the middle of a fight.

There are certainly better and faster alternatives but it’s definitely worth taking it along with some shields, particularly in situations when the storm is high on one’s tail.
8 Tent
Tents were added when Chapter Three started and they’re complex but very useful. Tents have two purposes in Fortnite: they can be used to store items in, which can be utilized later on or in a future match, and it’s possible to rest inside a Tent and restore health.
Tents are a Rare rarity item so they are not too common, but they’re easy to find since it’s possible to claim abandoned items on the map. Resting inside a tent will restore 5 HP per second and there is no maximum health cap or a timer, meaning it will heal players indefinitely.
7 Guzzle Juice
Guzzle Juice is quite similar to the now vaulted Slurp Juice as it heals health over time. It regenerates a total of 100 HP and only takes two seconds to consume, however, if a player takes damage while the juice is still in effect it’ll stop, except for fall damage. This means that it can’t be used to heal while in the storm which is definitely a downside.
It’s possible to carry two of them in the same inventory slot and they can almost always be found inside coolers.
6 Shield Potion
Shield Potions are most commonly known as big shields or big pots. They will heal a total of 50 Shield immediately, but they take five seconds to drink. While a decent healing item, they are not quite as good as some other Shield generating items.
5 Med Mist
Med mists can heal up to 150 HP, these health points work just like ammo. So, unlike other health items, the same item can be used various times until the can empties out.

Med Mist adds +5 HP to the player’s health each second, and it can be used while moving or sliding so it remains an option even while players are in the storm or running from it. Another great thing about this item is that players can spray themselves or their teammates.
4 Small Shield Potion
Small Shield Potions, also known as mini shields or simply minis, are one of the most notorious items in Fortnite, and they’re highly valued by competitive players.
Small Shields add +25 Shield and take two seconds to drink, however, they can’t be used or be effective past 50 Shield. The good thing about this item is how quickly they can be applied and the fact that it’s possible to stack six of them. In the heat of battle, after being hurt, they’re the perfect item to use when there’s a couple of seconds to spare.
3 Shield Keg
The Shield Keg is a collective Shield generating item, meaning that an entire squad can take advantage of it. It works a bit differently compared to other healing items, the keg is thrown on the ground and it’ll start to spray Shield, whoever is near it will receive its Shield.
It also remains active for quite a bit before disappearing. The Shield Keg will provide +150 Shield over a total of 75 seconds.
2 Chug Splash
The Chug Splash is a collective Shield generating item just like the Shield Keg. However, it can be used much faster. The Chug Splash can be found in coolers just like Guzzle Juice; they are also always found in stacks of two and can be stacked up to six cans.

To use this item, a player has to throw it on the floor, the cans will break and cause a splash that immediately provides +20 Shield to players nearby. There’s an Exotic rarity version of this item called the Chili Chug Splash that can only be obtained by eliminating a Loot Llama or bought from an NPC, it’s just the same as the Chug Splash but it also provides a speed boost, similar to eating a Pepper.
1 Pizza Party
The best healing in Fortnite at the moment is the Pizza Party item. It’s an Epic rarity item that when thrown on the ground reveals eight Pizza Slices inside. Any player from a squad can take or eat a piece at the same time.
It’s possible to stack three Pizza Slices in an inventory slot, and each slice provides +50 HP and +50 Shield simultaneously. It also only takes two seconds to eat. However, it caps at 50 Shield and 100 Health, which is the only downside.
Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
