Some of them worked with interesting premises, but failed to deliver what they promised. Fortunately, viewers who are looking for well-rated, high-quality horror shows still have several different options to choose from, from an animated story to an anthology series to a vampire horror tale. Even better, most of these shows are easily available on streaming services.

5 Dead End: Paranormal Park

Most horror shows focus on adult audiences. However, horror fans who would like to introduce their children or younger siblings to the genre shouldn’t miss out on watching the animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park. It focuses on two young people and a talking dog who join forces to fight demons together in a scary amusement park.

Dead End: Paranormal Park is an underappreciated new Netflix series, having scored only slightly over 2 thousand ratings on IMDb. As such, it’s more than plausible that many horror fans haven’t watched the series yet, even though it has a lot to offer.

4 Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet Of Curiosities

Director Guillermo del Toro had a good year in 2022. Not only did he release his well-received movie Pinocchio, but also worked on the horror anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities. Since each episode focuses on a different horror story, even if viewers don’t like one of them, they have the chance to enjoy the next one. Cabinet of Curiosities is full of terror and rich imagination, just like some of Guillermo del Toro’s best movies.

Many known faces appeared in the series, such as Ben Barnes, Rupert Grint, Andrew Lincoln, and others. Of the eight episodes, the best-rated is episode three, titled “The Autopsy.” Thanks to its atmosphere, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is an ideal Halloween watch, but will entertain horror fans regardless of what time of year it is.

3 Archive 81

Streaming on Netflix, the new horror series Archive 81 proves that working as an archivist isn’t always safe. The main hero Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie) learns this the hard way when he begins studying mysterious tapes made by filmmaker Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi) when investigating a cult. The series doesn’t have as fast a pace as others, but it still draws the audience in thanks to building an intense atmosphere.

Archive 81 requires careful watching from the viewers since it combines multiple timelines, which can be confusing. It has the power to surprise those who are watching it, since it comes up with more than one unexpected plot twist. Overall, Archive 81 is one of the more complex TV shows of 2022, and those who stream it are in for a memorable experience.

2 Let The Right One In

Some stories seem to be immortal – and so do vampires. Let the Right One In is an excellent example of that. The original novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist has been adapted as a movie twice, first in Sweden in 2008 and in the USA in 2010. In 2022, all fans of the book or vampires in general got another adaptation, this time in the form of a series which suits the complex story even more. Let the Right One In centers on a 12-year-old vampire named Eleanor who lives with her father, who is trying to get enough blood for her to survive.

Despite the age of the main character, the series is aimed at the adult audience. It’s dramatic, scary at times, as well as touching. It takes time to explore the relationship between Eleanor and her father Mark, made even more believable by Anika Noni Rose’s and Demián Bichir’s performances. Let the Right One In shows being a vampire isn’t such a delight as some other series would like the audience to believe.

1 From

Escaping from monsters or fighting them is never an easy task. And if the heroes undergo such an adventure — especially in the horror genre — it’s almost guaranteed that not all of them will survive it. From takes place in an atmospheric setting, a small isolated town that seems impossible to escape and is being terrorized by strange creatures at night. As the main heroes discover more and more about what’s happening, the terror grows greater and the story becomes more intense.

Some fans compared the series to Lost, since both shows use limited settings to their advantage, increasing the suspense and fear. From isn’t only a horror series, it also works as a mystery show. Discovering what’s going on in the town is just as intriguing as the horror storyline. Fortunately for fans, the series has been renewed for a second season, and ten new episodes are scheduled to air in 2023.
