RELATED: Things That Make No Sense In Jurassic World: Dominion
Despite being a single-player game, Jurassic World: Evolution 2 mods are still abundant and have an active community around them. There are plenty of talented modders out there who are aiming to improve and customize the experience that this game has to offer. All discussed mods can be found on Nexus Mods.
Updated June 25, 2022 by Josh Davison: With the recent release of Jurassic World: Dominion in theaters, interest has once again returned to the park-building simulator, Jurassic World Evolution 2. With a greater variety of dinosaurs as well as the introduction of marine reptiles, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is bigger and more ambitious than its predecessor.
With vitality injected into the game also comes renewed interest in Jurassic World: Evolution 2 mods. A wide variety of creatively ambitious mods have been made for this game, and they shouldn’t be slept on. Players can completely reimagine their game with the help of these Jurassic World: Evolution 2 mods.
11 Ultra Shadows Improves On The Game’s Shading Effects
Ultra Shadows is a mod by Nexus user hexabit. It’s of a common variety of Jurassic World: Evolution 2 mods that intend to improve the visuals of the game. Modders often have an eye for what’s not quite clicking in terms of the game’s visual design, and they often implement fixes to bring the game up to snuff.
Hexabit alters the nature of the shadows in JWE2 by increasing their range so that there is less pop-in. This seems like a minor fix on the surface, but it can do worlds of good to make the game’s visuals seem less jarring and more organic. It’s a very useful mod and well-worth checking out to smooth your Jurassic World: Evolution 2 gaming experience.
10 Feilong’s Paleo Edits And Overhauls For Therapods Gives New Visual Options For Carnivores
Feilong’s Paleo Edits and Overhauls for Therapods comes from modder MisterFeilong. This mod intends to add new looks for the therapod dinosaurs of the game. Therapods are bipedal carnivorous dinosaurs that have hollow bones and three-toed limbs. The term therapod covers a large variety of well-known dinosaurs, but this mod updates specifically the likes of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Allosaurus, Dilophosaurus, and others. Raptors (aka dromaeosaurs aren’t included in this mod).
The idea of this mod is to give the dinosaurs an older and more simplistic aesthetic. It smooths out many of the bumps and spines to make them look more like large lizards. It doesn’t completely remove such things, but it does give the dinosaurs more of a “classic look” (think Walking With Dinosaurs or When Dinosaurs Roamed America).
9 Atrociraptor Pack Adds A New Dino Through A Different Velociraptor Skin
The Atrociraptor Pack mod by user megagamingrex adds a new skin to the Velociraptors, specifically replacing The Lost World and Jurassic Park skins for the Velociraptor with two different looks inspired by the Atrociraptor. This is another species of raptor (or dromaeosaur) that was seen in the Malta section of Jurassic World: Dominion. It looks quite similar to the Velociraptor in the movie, and the real creature seems to have had a lot of similarities with the eponymous Velociraptor.
In any case, megagamingrex adds the Atrociraptor to Evolution 2. There aren’t all that many Jurassic World: Evolution 2 mods that go as far as adding in a new dinosaur, but they are well worth paying attention to whenever they crop up.
8 ACSE For Jurassic World: Evolution 2 Is A Springboard
ACSE, or Awesome Cobra Script Extender, isn’t so much a mod in itself as it is a platform on which many of the Jurassic World: Evolution 2 mods are built. It’s a content package for the Cobra, which is the game engine that Jurassic World Evolution 2 uses.
On its own, the ACSE doesn’t do much, but it’s a necessity for multiple great mods. Consequently, you’ll want to pick this one up. Credit for the ACSE on Nexus goes to Open-Naja, ilodev, Daemon1, and DennisNedry1993.
7 First-Person Mode Lets You Get Up-Close And Personal
The First-Person Mode mod by Kaiodenic is a fairly self-explanatory mod. It allows the player to go into a first-person perspective on the ground in their Jurassic World park. This allows the player to get up-close and personal with the dinosaurs and guests at the park. It also includes a handful of items, including binoculars that allow zooming in and a camera that can change filters and take screenshots.

Kaiodenic is a prolific modder for the Jurassic World: Evolutions 2 community on Nexus. He has made several impressive mods for the game, and many of them are on this list.
6 Expanded Scenery Provides A Deluge Of Plants
Expanded Scenery is another mod by Kaiodenic with special thanks to Inaki, and it focuses on decorating and further customizing the park. The mod allows the placement of specific plants and floral features as objects throughout the park.
This is one of those features where you wonder why this wasn’t in the base game in the first place. Furthermore, Kaiodenic went above and beyond with it, allowing over 500 different forms of greenery to be placed throughout the player’s Jurassic World park.
5 Expanded Sandbox Mode Gives The Player Everything They Could Ever Want
The Expanded Sandbox Mode is yet another mod created by the talented Kaiodenic. This one unlocks everything for the player while they are playing in the game’s sandbox mode. It allows the player to build everything at their disposal, including special buildings and 999 gene slots. Furthermore, you’ll have no issues with the staff with this mod.
Importantly, this mod doesn’t affect the campaign, challenges, or Chaos Theory mode. It is entirely contained to the free play of the sandbox mode.
4 Expanded Behavior Adds New Dimensions To The Dinosaurs
This mod, also from user Kaiodenic with assistance from Swift Wyvern, is particularly ambitious. It expands the behavioral trees of the dinosaurs, making them more complex and expansive. This is no small undertaking, as messing with a video game’s AI systems takes a lot of effort and care.

The Expanded Behavior mod does things such as adding an omnivore diet for some dinosaurs, allowing pack hunters to eat from the same carcass, and allowing carnivores to hunt for sport.
3 Expanded Terrain Tools Gives The Player New Options
Expanded Terrain Tools also comes from Kaiodenic. This improves the terrain tools on offer when customizing the landscape upon which you will build your park. This is another one of those mods that will leave you wondering why many of the options were not in the base game.
The Expanded Terrain Tools provides an intensity slider for certain terrains, removes limits on rock placement, lowers minimum and raises maximum radius constraints, and provides a whole slew of other options. This is yet another highly impressive mod from Kaiodenic.
2 FreeBuild Allows Players To Build A Park Without Limits
FreeBuild is yet another Kaiodenic but is the last one from him that will be discussed on this list. This is a relatively straightforward mod, as it removes constraints on buildings and increases the maximum terrain flattening angle from 60 to 30 degrees.

This makes building your Jurassic World far easier and less of a headache when trying to determine what buildings can be placed where and how to clear out land to build upon.
1 LAStudios Megalodon Offers A Whole New Species For Your Park
This mod from user LAStudios adds a whole new species to Jurassic World: Evolution 2. It adds the Megalodon to the options of sea life that can be placed in the game. Megalodon is the largest species of shark to have ever lived, and this mod allows it to be on display in the marine environments in your park.
LAStudios actually has another new species mod for the game in the Miragaia, a long-necked member of the Stegosaur family. LAStudios seems intent on adding more and more attractions for your Jurassic World park, so it’s worth keeping an eye on their uploads to Nexus.
Jurassic World: Evolution 2is out now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
