His comment prompted hundreds of viewers to flock to the post’s comments section and express their love for the men’s “bromance.”
The bride (@huns.buns) shared the funny moment with TikTok, where it has received more than 1.5 million views. The TikTok itself shows the bride watching the clip of the wedding video on her cellphone, and was presumably recorded by her husband.
“What happens when you leave the mic at the head table with the best men during your first dance,” the TikTok’s caption reads.
The video on the bride’s phone opens with the couple sharing a private conversation as they dance. However, the romantic moment is immediately interrupted by the best man’s hot mic comment.
“Spencer’s a** looks so fat right now,” he says.
The couple bursts into laughter as they continue to watch the video.
According to Brides, the role of the best man comes with various responsibilities. Those responsibilities include: ensuring the groom arrives at the venue on time, holding the wedding rings and serving as the witness during the marriage license signing.
Best men are also encouraged to act as the “unofficial reception host and MC,” said The Knot.
“Keep your eyes and ears open at the reception to make sure the newlyweds and guests are having a blast, and that the rest of the wedding party knows where they need to be and when,” the publication said.
“Yes, you should behave yourself and be as helpful as possible, but being a beaming ball of joy and energy … throughout the party is one of the best things you can do,” the publication continued.
Considering the best man kept the bride and groom laughing well after the wedding, it would appear as though he fulfilled at least some of his duties.
Newsweek reached out to the bride for comment but did not hear back in time for publication.
Of course, the bride and groom weren’t the only ones who found humor in his unscripted moment as several TikTok users joined in on the fun.
“If i’m [sic] not cackling this hard at my own wedding video, i [sic] don’t want it,” said marybeth.
“THIS IS AMAZING,” added Jules.
“YOU’RE JOKING,” commented Paige.
Others were delighted by the men’s bromance.
“No woman/man can ever love a guy as much as his boys do,” said Ajay.
“A true bromance,” responded lil.
