Stacking is more important now than ever as the season enters its stretch run. At this point, everyone knows which matchups are favorable/unfavorable for each position, so the best players each week will be relatively highly owned. Earning lineup differentiation by targeting potential high-scoring matchups and value sleepers can be a winning strategy for daily fantasy football players.
There are a few different ways to stack lineups. Usually, you want to go with positions that have correlated success. For example, if a quarterback does well, his receivers also tend to do well, and if a team is winning with a strong defensive performance, it will typically lead to more opportunities for its RBs later in the game.
Of course, you don’t have to use traditional stacks in your lineup. You can make some odd pairings — like a QB and an RB or a WR and a D/ST — to try to fabricate a unique lineup. You can also stack games and target multiple players across all positions in a contest that is projected to be a high-scoring one.
DraftKings and FanDuel remain the top DFS platforms worldwide, but DraftKings has the more variable pricing. That makes it a bit easier to craft creative stacks, especially when targeting cheaper receivers. That’s not to say you can’t stack on FanDuel; it’s just sometimes harder to find value when doing so.
Below are some of our favorite sets of teammates for Week 14 DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
WEEK 14 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel
Week 14 NFL DFS Picks: Top cash game stacks for DraftKings, FanDuel
QB Jalen Hurts, WR A.J. Brown, and WR DeVonta Smith, Eagles at Giants (DK Stack)
The Eagles stack will be one of the most expensive on the card, but it will also be one of the safest. Hurts has logged at least 21 DK points in six consecutive games and has consecutive outings with at least 32.8 DK points. His rushing floor will make him a great play when paired with his passing ceiling.
Meanwhile, Brown and Smith have been fairly consistent this season. Both posted 100-yard receiving games and combined for three touchdowns against the Titans, and they could have similar success against a banged-up Giants defense that has been shredded in consecutive weeks by top receivers Terry McLaurin and CeeDee Lamb.
You’ll need a few sleepers to pair with this higher-priced three-man stack, but it should be well worth it.
WEEK 14 PPR RANKINGS:QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
RB Tony Pollard, RB Ezekiel Elliott, and Dallas D/ST, Cowboys vs. Texans (DK Stack)
The Texans have allowed an NFL-high 1,730 rushing yards to running backs and are on pace to allow a whopping 2,875 rushing yards this season in total. That means that Pollard and Elliott will have plenty of opportunities to make plays.
Which one is better? Well, Elliott gets more volume while Pollard is more efficient. So, why not choose both? Each should get a chance to run a lot, especially if the Cowboys can build an early lead against the Texans. If both get in the end zone, they should provide a nice anchor with lineup differentiation in cash games.
As for the Cowboys defense, it’s one of the best units in the league. Meanwhile, the Texans allow the second-most fantasy points per game to D/STs and are one of four teams to commit 20-plus turnovers this season. Enough said.
WEEK 14 STANDARD RANKINGS:QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
RB Isiah Pacheco and Kansas City D/ST, Chiefs at Broncos (DK/FD Stack)
The idea of going with Pacheco instead of a Chiefs passing stack won’t appeal to everyone. However, the Broncos are worse against the run than they are against the pass. Denver has actually allowed the 12th-most rushing yards per game to RBs (100.7) so that will allow Pacheco to have a solid outing if Andy Reid keeps feeding him.
Pacheco has logged 67 carries in his past four games and has logged double-digit fantasy points in three straight games. That makes it easier to trust the Chiefs’ top back, especially with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) out.
As for the Chiefs’ defense, the Broncos are averaging a league-low 13.8 points per game. Kansas City should be able to limit Denver, so that will give us a high floor with plenty of upside for more.
Week 14 DraftKings, FanDuel Picks: Best stacks for daily fantasy football tournaments
QB Tyler Huntley, WR Demarcus Robinson, and TE Mark Andrews, Ravens at Steelers (DK/FD Stack)
The Ravens may not have Lamar Jackson (knee) at their disposal, but they still present a solid stacking opportunity this week.
Tyler Huntley is a like-for-like swap with Jackson in terms of skill set, so he has a nice rushing floor. In his four starts last season, Huntley ran for at least 40 yards and he posted a season-high 72 rushing yards against the Steelers. He should have another solid outing against Pittsburgh this year even though the Steelers have been better against scrambling quarterbacks this year.
Huntley isn’t just a good scrambler, though. He is also an accurate passer with a career completion percentage of 67.6, so that should give the Ravens’ pass-catchers plenty of chances to make plays against Pittsburgh’s 29th-ranked pass defense. Mark Andrews (86) and Demarcus Robinson (50) rank Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, on the team in receptions, so pairing them with Huntley is a sensible move.
QB Ryan Tannehill, RB Derrick Henry, and WR Treylon Burks, Titans vs. Jaguars (DK/FD Stack)
This may seem like a weird combo of players, but it could work. Henry is the main draw here, as he has a history of success against the Jaguars. He has averaged 147 rushing yards per game in his past four outings against Jacksonville with seven touchdowns, so the Titans will likely lean on him heavily in this matchup.
The Tannehill/Burks combo is a bit riskier, but neither player is too expensive. Burks has at least 70 yards or a touchdown in his last three outings and appears to be gaining chemistry with Tannehill, so as long as he clears concussion protocol and can play, he should provide nice value. If he’s out, you can pivot to Robert Woods or Nick Westbrook-Ikhine for an even cheaper option against Jacksonville’s 30th-ranked pass defense.
Meanwhile, Tannehill hasn’t been much of a fantasy threat this season, but it’s noteworthy that he has seven passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in his past four games against the Jaguars. Between Tannehill and Henry, we should get all of the Titans’ touchdowns in what could be a high-scoring game.
QB Dak Prescott, WR CeeDee Lamb, and WR Michael Gallup, Cowboys vs. Texans (DK/FD Stack)
Two Cowboys stacks? In one week? In this economy? Yup. That’s just how bad the Texans are.
Dallas just dropped 54 points on the Colts, and 33 of those came in the fourth quarter. Prescott has recorded multiple scores in five consecutive starts and could do that again here. Meanwhile, Lamb has averaged 6.4 catches and 89.8 yards per game over his past five appearances, and that includes four touchdowns. He should rack up YAC yards against the Texans if Derek Stingley Jr. (hamstring) remains out.
You could go several different directions with the final spot here, but Gallup seems to have the highest ceiling. He is averaging 6.4 targets per game in his past five appearances and caught two touchdowns against the Colts. He’s looking healthy and has the big-play potential needed to be a boom pick for our lineup. Most will include either Tony Pollard or Ezekiel Elliott in Cowboys’ stacks this week (see above), so this is a bit of a contrarian pick that could really pay off in tournaments if Dak and Co get the TDs instead of the RBs.
